Word Processing Activities - Autobiography

You will prepare your autobiography of technology use using Word or an equivalent word processing program.

You will be writing about yourself and your use of and attitudes about computers.  The length of this autobiography will depend on the types of experiences you have had in your life up to this day.  You should be as in depth as you possibly can as well as provide details of your experiences.  Your tale should let me know how you first came to use microcomputers and how your use of them has changed over the last few years.  The history should be written using narrative prose; like telling a folktale or a story.  Tell your story the way it is!

Your autobiography will include the following sections:

1)     Introduction (Short paragraph explaining the nature of your narrative (e.g., purpose, what you will cover in this paper.)

2)     Personal History of Computer Exposure and Actual Use (Write a narrative or story.)

3)     The Role of Computers in the Schools (Say a little about your expectations and attitudes about computer integration into the curriculum and how computers are used in your teaching and in the schools where YOU teach.)

4)     Computers and Society:  Broader Implications (Wax eloquent about what the role of technology may be in the future (i.e. technology and preparation of the workforce etc.)

5)     Summary and Conclusion (Restate your main points and summarize what YOU think this all means.)
