Internet Hunts - E-Sheets

What is a Internet Hunt and how do E-Sheets facilitate the process?  In the Internet Hunt activity, the students visit a web page that has been pre-selected by the teacher.  They use information literacy skills to answer research questions about the topic.   An E-sheet or electronic worksheet is a tool that teachers can use to focus their students' research on the Internet.  It is a one or two page worksheet that goes along with a web page.

Examples:

  • Ellis Island e-sheet - http://huntington.tce.schoolinsites.com/Common/Forms/
    FormBrowser.asp?iFormID=7795&SchoolID=%27160%27

WebQuests

What is a WebQuest?  A WebQuest is an inquiry-oriented activity in which some or all of the information that learners interact with comes from resources on the internet.  Typically, it is done in cooperative groups.
